For the 2005 Presidential Inauguration, Hayes & Associates brought together nine Republican senators - Wayne Allard (CO), Robert Bennett (UT), Conrad Burns (MT), Larry Craig (ID), Michael Crapo (ID), John Ensign (NV), Mike Enzi (WY), Orrin Hatch (UT) and Craig Thomas (WY) - and executed an event that targeted well-defined constituencies from the western mountain states for guests who preferred an event that was masterfully executed, tastefully decorated, and relaxing, rather than an event with a crowded, “free-for-all” party atmosphere.
Held in room 216 of the Hart Senate Office Building, site of the famous Watergate hearings, the Mountain West Inaugural Event was designed as a pre-swearing in breakfast for approx. 700 guests that transitioned into a reception style lunch. The event also provided indoor festivities, featuring a number of large screen televisions on which guests were able to view the day’s festivities, for those who wanted to remain near the excitement of the Inaugural events while staying out of the Winter elements.
As is usually the case with Presidential Inaugurals, H&A’s lead time was relatively short, and our coordination of guest list development, committee recruitment and organization, fundraising and logistical planning had to be executed with the additional challenge of such a short timetable, one of the hallmarks of H&A’s event planning expertise.
